The Conversation: A Space for Real Connection with Moun D’Simone

In a city that never sleeps, finding a moment to slow down, connect, and be present can feel like a luxury (even impossible). Enter The Conversation—a new class at Sage + Sound led by transformational teacher Moun D’Simone, designed to be a place where real dialogue, deep listening, and meaningful reflection take center stage. Each session unfolds like a shared experience—part storytelling, part guided introspection—offering a unique opportunity to pause and really look into what’s stirring beneath the surface.

For February, the theme is all about love—not just the kind we celebrate on Valentine’s Day, but the kind that challenges us, deepens our understanding of ourselves, and expands our ability to connect with one another. In this interview, Moun shares more about The Conversation, what to expect in the class, and why this class might be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

In your own words, what is The Conversation?

The Conversation is a space to gather, slow down, and connect—both with yourself and others. It’s about creating room for authentic sharing, deep listening, and mutual growth. You’ll leave feeling seen, heard, and ready to bring what’s been ignited in you into your life with more clarity and energy.

How and why did you feel this was an important piece of programming?

Living in NYC, we’re constantly moving at full speed. But the truth is, we’re more disconnected than ever. In a city that never slows down, we need places where we can just be—where we can pause, share, and connect meaningfully.

Creating a space where people can drop in or return regularly, where we can sit in a circle and practice together, feels like a vital remedy to the chaos of daily life. It’s not just about the individual—it’s about all of us, creating something real and grounded as a community.

Who is The Conversation for?

Anyone who feels the pull. People from all walks of life show up, and somehow, each person gets exactly what they need. There’s something special about being in a space where the common thread is simply being human—craving real connection and longing for something more than the digital noise. It’s one of those experiences you have to feel to understand—how just being in the room can shift something in you.

Tell us a little about what will be special for this class in February.

It’s February, and most people are thinking about Valentine’s Day. I wanted to create a space to get real about love—the kind that asks us to show up, to see and be seen, to break old patterns and build something true, which is what we all want and deserve.

We’ll explore topics like:

The difference between love and attachment

How your past shapes your patterns in relationships

What it means to love without losing yourself

Practices for deeper connection and welcoming more love—with yourself and others

The format includes conversation, journaling, and storytelling—one of the best ways I’ve found for people to absorb and receive new perspectives.

What’s something people wouldn’t know about this class from reading the description?

That the class has a way of meeting you exactly where you are. It’s both grounding and expansive, offering space for reflection while keeping things engaging and alive. There’s a natural rhythm between structure and spontaneity, which makes each session feel intentional yet organic—like a conversation that unfolds exactly as it’s meant to.

Is there anything someone should do to prepare for The Conversation in February?

Come as you are—no preparation needed, just a willingness to be present, reflect, and engage. If you want to get the most out of it, take a moment before class to ask yourself: What do I believe about love? Where do I feel most challenged in my relationships?

The breathwork will help you settle in, the conversation will invite new perspectives, and the tools will give you something tangible to take with you.
